Clay Door Studio

So called because it enables people to

“open a door”

and discover themselves through Art.

Browsing

Visitors are welcome to visit the studio to buy or browse – in fact many stumble upon it whilst exploring the alleyways of Chudleigh.  It is not always open so it is advisable to make an appointment if travelling from afar.

Commissions

Commissions are as diverse as the people who request them.  I have made numerous sculptures to commemorate  an anniversary or achievement; bespoke birdbaths and planters; housesigns and memorial plaques. If it is not within my capacity, I am happy to recommend a colleague with the necessary skills.

Teaching

Periodically I give classes to small informal groups of people of differing abilities.  I introduce a variety of hand-building techniques and decorating experiences.  Many come with projects which I help them to realise and I am constantly surprised and challenged by the originality of ideas that I would not have dreamt up myself.

After 24 enjoyable years of working at

Clay Door Studio, Old Pottery Court, Chudleigh, Devon

I recently dissolved this studio to work closer to my home in Teignmouth,

exhibiting locally and hoping to offer classes and commissions in the future
